MASSAGE (SPORTS AND REMEDIAL)
Massage therapy can benefit everybody! From those who plays sport daily, or weekends warriors only, those who train hard at the gym, those who live active lifestyles, those who have recently suffered an injury or undergone surgery, or those just with everyday simple postural related aches and pains from current modern life.
Our registered Massage Therapist, Sarah, who boasts a long career in the field, offers specific treatments relating to all types of acute and chronic injuries, as well as pre and post operative treatments, pregnancy, lymphatic drainage and postural assessment, in addition to a variety of other applications. The techniques used depend on what you would like and what you need and the treatment plan is agreed between you! For those wanting a Sports/remedial massage, a combination of techniques including deep/soft tissue release, muscle energy techniques, assisted stretching, trigger point therapy and Myofascial release are utilised. Sarah also uses cupping. For those wanting a lighter massage, more subtle and less 'uncomfortable' techniques are used.
Every treatment is tailored to the client's needs ensuring a high level of rehabilitation and fast recovery. Sarah's experience, which includes working in another Chiropractic clinic and also with the local team, Burnham Joggers, means she has the knowledge and clinical judgement to provide individually tailored treatments that are safe and effective for specific conditions such as Achilles Tendonitis as well as simple areas of developing tension . Sarah follows your initial session up with an email summarising your complaints and the areas she found to be in need of help, along with exercises for you to self manage at home. We advise at least a 40 minute massage initially, to allow enough time to adequately assess you, after which 30, 40 or 60 minutes are your options!
